Viewing - Text 7

The system designed by these two engineers was not particularly original. In fact it bears an astonishing resemblance to that adopted later by the Moviola, which is seen as the first film viewer. The inventor of the Moviola, Iwan Serrurier, likely heard about the experiments of these engineers before the patent application for the Moviola (or, as it was known at the time, the Moviola-Midget) was filed in October 1924 – a few months after the publication of a description and pictures of the viewer used by Kodak in Transactions of the Society of Motion Picture Engineers.
