The content of the dioramas was thus constructed over a period of more than twenty years. Once the dioramas were finished, the distant lands they depicted were exhibited to the public alongside each other in 1936, in a dizzying geographical, zoological and ultimately atmospheric display.

Conceiving dioramas in relation to moving images and even to the cinema made possible by the Akeley camera was an idea that was already circulating in a few discourses of the day.
