Description
Not having enough film to record the entire arrival of the procession, the Lumière camera operator who filmed Paris : les souverains russes et le Président de la République aux Champs-Élysées (“Paris: The Russian Sovereigns and the President of the Republic on the Champs-Élysées”, 1896) had to stop shooting and resume turning the crank at a better moment. Thus, a border is showing in the top quarter of the image at the moment when the operator resumed shooting.
