Haptic Gloves - Text 2
To record the movements of the fingers (only the little finger was not measured), conductive ink inkscreened onto a flexible circuit measured the change of resistance when the player moved.[2] This mechanism replaced the much more expensive fibre optics used initially in the Data Glove. By detecting when fingers were bent in this way the glove could transpose onto the screen movements of the thumb or index finger or the forming of a fist, the way pushing a button on a traditional controller would. The code programmed on the Power Glove keypad at the beginning of the game established the equivalences between each movement and a touch on the controller.
