What is more, this correlation between establishing the MPL and lauding the representation of animals moving about in their ecosystem using a camera which itself was mobile highlights the revolution in documentary cinema brought about by the invention of the Akeley camera. From the lion hunt that Carl Akeley could not record in 1910 to the hunt immortalized by the Johnsons in the widely admired Simba: King of the Beasts in 1928,[18] this camera introduced a paradigm of exploration cinema by all those who played a part in deploying it, with its pans and tilts, in the face of the spontaneity of wild animals.
