Video Noise and Video Feedback - Text 2
Optical/external video feedback
A video feedback system can be created very simply by pointing a live camera at its own monitor in order to form a loop in the signal, resulting in an infinite visual echo of screens within screens – a mise-en-abyme.[3] With careful adjustment of the camera’s position, zoom and iris, this arrangement can quickly produce “wonderfully complex structures and patterns.”[4] We can refer to this use of a camera or lens-based input as optical video feedback.
