Cinema - Text 7
The film is reminiscent of other cinematic experiments with first-person point of view filming, including the much-criticized Lady in the Lake (Robert Montgomery, 1946), which has often been reproached for alienating viewers by limiting them to the perspective of a single character in the story. Setting aside the contrived plot that drives the film forward, Hardcore Henry remains a key example in the study of the action camera, as it is all about turning our attention to the body behind the camera.
