Television Eyeglasses - Text 5

By placing one small television tube and peripheral vision lens system before each eye of the user, one ear phone by each ear, and one air duct before each nostril, the spectator is given a complete sensation of reality, i.e., moving three dimensional images, which may be in colour, with 100% peripheral vision, binaural sounds, scents and air breezes.[10]

A little later, Heilig made a prototype, apparently purely visual (without sounds or smells), which he renamed the “telesphere mask”.

Television eyeglasses, however, would never go beyond the prototype stage, and one would have to wait for the development of virtual reality headsets for this project to come to fruition.
