Television Eyeglasses - Text 1
Like radio in the 1920s and 30s, television in the 1950s and 60s was marketed as a family device for the home. Quickly, however, television was miniaturized and also looked to be sold as an even more individual device with portable television (Sentinel, 1948; Philco, 1959; Sony, 1961), pocket television (Panasonic, 1981; Sony, 1982) and the television wristwatch (Seiko, 1983). Early on, one inventor even conceived “television eyeglasses.”
